Google isn’t invading your privacy. Pretty much by definition, Google only collects _public_ information – if it’s not publicly on the web, Google can’t get to it.
What is probably shocking (and maybe scaring) people is how much information is public on the Web these days. But you can rest assured: if it doesn’t get on the web, it will remain private (at least as far as Google is concerned)
The people invading your privacy are the people who post those details in the first place.

Google not only collects public information. They also collect your search history and if you have a gmail account they read your emails. All of this, I believe, is private information, but they do use this information, for example in AdSense. And it’s scary if you think about what else they can do with it.
